HOT Food

When we were back from hometown on the 1st Sept, the holiday mood still lingered. And I think my brother felt that way too. So he suggested us to go for an authentic Thai food somewhere in Ulu Langat. I ajak Papa-M, and he agreed at once. (normally Papa-M won’t agree to go to a place so far far away from our house just for a dinner, hmmmm maybe he too,on holiday clouds)

The journey from home to the restaurant took about nearly an hour, which required us to pass through small town and windy uneven road. Papa-M don’t know the route, and brother led the way using his GPS – a blind leading another blind with the help of a device….hah we are living in a technology world!!

OKok, back to my Thai food adventure.
Bro suggested to start our journey as early as possible so that we won’t get lost in the dark since we never been there before. So being kiasu, we really reached the restaurant at 5.40pm. We were one of the earliest customers.
The restaurant is set up on a lake, whereby the eating platforms are built by bamboo and wood. And it was surrounded by trees.

Walking towards the entrance

I saw a worker caught some mussels from the net , to be cooked I think

We sat by the lake

But too bad, on that day, the weather was not good, it was very very hot and humid. No breeze no wind at all! And it was my first time eating Thai food in the nature but still sweat like an ice!. Not only me, all of us sweat, including Bb- G who wore only singlet and short pants. Imagine how bad our situation was. I even had the urge to tell the owner to invest in big FANssss which we usually see in the kopitiam!

Anyway, the food waiting time was quite short. Within 15 mins, many dishes were already served on the table. We had pineapple fried rice (tasty), stir fry brinjal (good), tomyam soup (nice), 4 heavenly kings (not bad), creamy sauce prawn (ok), fried chicken (I like!), grill sotong (my god, very bad, just like eating rubber) and a Thai style steam fish (maybe too hot already, cannot remember snap photo of the fish).

We also order some desserts . Mango glutinous rice, and 2 bowls of “dono wat name” – taste like cendol+ice kacang .

About 6.30pm, we were done with our dinner. Pheeww… that was a fast one....if eat under hot weather..

  1. Nice surrounding. If food is good, it is worth traveling.
