Happening

I guess putting on weight during the year end festive season is unavoidable....

So many "makan" parties I've had had recently, and when I put myself at the weighing machine this morning, I've gained 2kgs!!! Gosh gosh gosh......gemuk...gemuk...gemuk...

Makan Part 1- Date: 21/12/12, Friday
Papa-M's side of family gathering at his uncle's house in Seremban. Few families gathered together,  well, sempena Winter Solstice (or sempana Hari Khiamat, kakaaka) . We had barbeque at night. Before the dinner, I took egg tart, made by Papa-M's youngest aunt.

Makan Part 2 - Date: 22/12/12, Saturday
Still in Seremban. Breakfast at home, inlaws packed famous hawker food from Seremban market. I had the famous Hakka Mi, and wow that was nice. Simple combination of Hakka noodle plus minced pork gave a very Ummph taste!

Lunch at home too. Besides the homecooked plain rice and some stirfried green vegs, our main protein came from roast chicken+duck, plus fried chicken, all packed from outside.

Makan Part 3 - Date: 23/12/12, Sunday
Back in my own house. My parents came from South. Mom had prepared some yam rice, stewed pork, stirfry mixed vegs , dark soysauce chicken and a pumpkin dish for lunch.

At night, my parents-in-law belanja my parents for dinner. So we ate a Chinese restaurant, we had curry fish head and steam ginger fish as the main dishes, came well with other side dishes like pork, soup, vegs  and beancurd.

Makan Part 4 - Date: 24/12/12, Monday
Breakfast with my parents and inlaws. We had hawker food. Quite a heavy meal though...

Had some refreshment in Sunway Pyramid with parents, yogurt ice-cream, fish balls, guiling gao, herbal tea. Back home to have our tea break. we made tuna mayo tortilla wraps. Parents had their coffee, whereas sister, Bb-G and me had the tortillas with VITAGEN, haha!

Dinner, mom was the chef, and she cooked us tomato sauce fish, corn soup, vegs and cilipadi stirfied chicken.

On that day, it was BbG's first time using chopsticks on her own too

After dinner, we had red wine, peanuts, cookies and cheese. It was the X'mas eve mini home party!

This little fella very much wanted to use the wine glass. She had apple flavour vitagen.

Makan Part 5 - Date 25/4/2012, Tuesday
Nothing much special happened in the day time. Mom prepared brunch for us, before she went back home in the South in late noon. Our breakfast + lunch at 11am.  So nice ya, food was served when we woke up. Main dishes - sweet sour fish and chicken rendang

At night, Papa-M, Bb-G and me attended a X'mas potluck party at our friend's house. I brought over a pot of 4 litres mushroom soup, catered for roughly  20 over people. So glad the soup was very welcoming and I received so many thumb-ups ^_*

We had all these at the party - mushroom soup, roast chicken, roast pork, salads, fried dumplings, fried fish cake fuchuk, cakes, ginger cookies, pasta,garlic breads,  soft drink for the kids, and of course wine and liquour for the adults. I came back home with very full tummy and "mabuk" hahaha...How I wish today no need to work...

Tell me please, how NOT  to get FAT with all this makan thingy happened in a straight row?????

Anyway, Merry X'mas 2012 ! One more party to come in the new year eve.... it is all about drink, food and fun....!

Mirror

I think it is a nature, a nature of every young girl to look at herself at the mirror, to doll herself in front of the mirror........

Lately, due to the kindy holiday camp, Bb-G wakes up early in the morning. Before I can even fully settle myself, she is already on the standby mode, awaiting for me to settle her hair. Worse still, she likes to cramp and squeeze with me when I am at the dressing table applying face cream and makeover. She will follow whatever I do, sometimes it is so unbearable because I am rushing for time, and she is so sibuk , kacau here and kacau there.....

Not only in the morning, each time when I am at the dressing table, she is definitely there to steal half the size of the mirror.

To make my life easier and to keep her away from me during the "busy moirning time" , I decided to give her my accessory mirror box, a present from Vietnam. At least she can have her own  "Vain" time  without disturbing me at the moment...

The box is now full of her hair accessories. She loves to "kiap" her front fringe with this yellow hair clips. Yoooooh....see until the mirror will pecah lar, Bb-G!

I wonder how long  can she get herself occupied with this mini mirror box....Hmmm....I think, soon, I am going to get her dressing table

Piano Stickers

Bb-G is obsessed with stickers and she just loves playing with stickers now

Last night I was in my room busy with something else. She was alone in the living room, very quiet. Usually she follows me when I am in the room.
To ensure she was ok, I shouted and asked

Me: EHHHH,....WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Bb-G: I PLAY STICKER
Me: OK....

When I came out (after 15mins), I saw she took out all the stickers from the sticker books, and pasted them one by one on my sofa! No wonder she was so quiet and never disturb me at all...Rupa-rupanya ada udang di sebalik batu....

Next, she told me she was making a piano, and started to play a song.....hahahahaha!

Very stylo somemore

Restless

I just read SP's blog. After months of tight and busy schedules preparing for her exams, etc...she suddenly didn't know what to do now....

I am exactly having the same feeling like her now.......

For the past few weeks, I had been busy with....

First of all, preparing for Spa new treatment launch and X'mas promotion. Rushing for  the marketing materials (posters, leaflets, bunting, e-blast etc....)

Secondly, preparing, redoing  and updating the documentations for my dept 5S audit,

Then, followed by doing powerpoint slides, with a lot of charts, graphs, lines....( I do until eyes blur blur...)

Lastly, updating another presentation slides which required me to propose new supplier and evaluate their potentials, etc....

Phew....at last everything was done or almost completed...and, I don't know what to do now? Besides blogging, curi curi facebooking (company block the link, but I still managed to "unblock" it, hahahha), I seriously not doing anything now... Kinda bored actually....

Although for the past weeks I was busy, I never feel stressed , yet i  felt life was so energetic.
Now, I 've got nothing much to do, and no need to rush for timeline, I feel my body very tired and lethargic....

Dip Dip

I bought some snacks for Bb-G when we were in Perth. They are mini biscuits but then come in cheese dip and chocolate dip.

I prefer the cheese dip , because the chocolate dip is not "strong" enough for me, hehehe, but both snacks are good enough to make Bb-G occupied when I am not free. She can dip "forever"  while watching her show for hours!

Update

I just realised that I have not been writing much during these few weeks. Has been busy with internal audit, then, followed by year end product review powerpoint presentation slides. So many things to do in early December !

Anyway, I am a bit "loose" today, and have some free time "arranging+housekeeping" my photos in the camera. Noticed I still kept some food photos, let me put in the  blog before they are erased.

Not long ago, my colleague had recently introduced me this Hokkien Mi eating place near our office. And this place has become my favourite place for dinner, if,  I wish to settle my dinner before going home after work.

It only took me 5 mins drive from my office. No hassle for finding a parking space. This place opens their business from 6pm to 3am, at Old Klang Road.

Their dishes are all on the big banner.

I tried their oyster fried egg, fried sotong and prawn fried before, but my favourite is still Hokkien Mee. Prices are reasonably cheap too. Hmmmm....maybe tonite I want to eat this again....^_^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many weeks ago, errrr..can't remember when actually, I made mihun kueh again. Well, that is my favourite food too..
Instead of mihun kueh soup, I decided to prepare dry version for the family as dinner.
Instead of mixing the spinach juice into the dough, I used the whole chopped spinach.
Tadaa!!....... Dry spinach mihun kueh with gravy minced pork and fried ikan bilis.  I cooked a pot of seaweed soup as complementary.
(Side track : "Tadaa!!...."  is a word I quote from Bb-G recently.  I wonder where she learned this from. When she wants to show me something, and she thinks t that I could be surprised by her, she would jump out and shout TADAAA!!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I enjoy cooking, but I don't enjoy washing my heavy iron wok. Hence, I always like to use non-stick wok, which is much lighter and easier to wash too. However,"shelf life" of a non-stcik wok is always not long, and it requires a lot of good maintenance. If I accidentally scratch the surface, the non-stick coating would be scrapped out. And I can't use it anymore....haiz....and not long ago, I just threw away my favourite 2 units of non-stick wok, and started to use back my heavy iron wok. Had been eyeing to get a new non-stick wok and suddenly, I was given a present from my mother-in-law.

Tadaaaaa!!!.....heheheh..... Is the Korean made double sided pan!

I've got to know about this pan since years ago, when I joined Cosway as member. Then, I also saw such pans in the supermarket, and also realised it can be bought online too. Planned to buy one, but thinking that I have an iron wok and 2 non-stick woks at home, I dropped off the idea.

This pan really came in the right time. The first dish I cooked with this pan was mishuah soup. Never know that it wasSOOOOOO EASY to use, I just put a little bit of oil, dumped in some garlic, put in some marinated meat patties, closed the pan for a very short while. I never did any stirring at all, I didn't even use a spatula, I only had chopsticks on my hand. Then opened the pan again, poured in hot water, followed by misuah, salt, pepper, soysauce, sesame oil, green vegs and beancurd sheets. Closed the pan again another short while(less than a min), opened the pan again, and the dish was ready, and smelled good too.

Yesterday noon,  my brother gave me 2 corns. Instead of steaming like the usual way I  used to do, I grilled the corn. Melt some butter in the pan, put in the jagung, closed the pan, and let it grill under low fire. I shook the pan a bit so that the corn could roll and grill evenly. Opened the pan after roughly 10mins.

Tadaaaa!! My butter salted grill jagung during the tea break. Macam beli dari pasar malam ya...

I really like this double sided pan so much, because my kitchen top remain clean and free from oil after each cooking. What a wonderful and brilliant pan the Korean had invented!
