Weak.....

This happened 2 weeks ago.
On Friday, I was on MC didn't go to work, due to throat irritation.. Cough and feel very uncomfortable. Doctor never prescribed me antibiotic, saying that my throat was only a little bit red and inflammed. She just gave me some lozenges and cough syrup. I felt better the next day.Had a good weekend.
Went back to work on Monday as usual. Things started to go hay wire when I cooked myself a bowl of curry flavour instant noodles on Wednesday night for light dinner. And then followed by Cheeser.
I took the cheese rings continuously while reading my Sidney Sheldon's novel, and didn't realised that I had gulped half the portion of the big pack.
Went to sleep with "only a glass of plain water" after I finished the book.
The next morning on Thursday, felt my throat very dry and very itchy too. Coughed. Then keep drinking lots of water. Went to work. In the office, keep coughing because my throat real itched!...but never feel pain or dry. Colg told me could be due to too much cheese last night. Then went out for lunch, we took bak kut teh. Gosh, it was delicious. I thought soup could be good to my throat, and somemore bak kut teh seems to be so nourishing. Furthermore, the shop that we went to was introduced by Mediacorp artistes Chen Liping and Xu Meizhen few years back.
After lunch back to office, continued working. By 4pm, I felt my throat real pain, and stinging and biting. Felt sick. Went back home, dinner with Papa-M's friends who came back from overseas. After dinner, went to clinic , doctor said I had very bad throat, swollen too. Gave me strong antibiotic, painkiller and anti-swell medicines.
He anticipated I would feel worse on the next day, which was Friday, so gave me an MC. Hence I didn't work on last Friday too. After taking the medi, felt very good. No more sore throat, no more cough. As healthy as a bull. Had a good weekend.!
Back to work on Monday. But yesterday, which was Tuesday, out of a sudden, by noon time, I felt my body very weak, shoulders very stiff. Eyes very blur. Could not tolerate any further, asked permission to go back early by 12.30pm. Driving back home was a difficult journey where the sun was so hot and glaring. Reached home, immediately took Panadol Actifast - water soluble type. Slept till 4.30pm. Steamed some bread and a hard boiled egg for real late lunch. Had a hot shower. Felt better. Today came back to work. Colgs asked why I sick for so long, like never get any better. Hmmm, maybe I was too tired, too rush, didn't really get sufficient rest. (Taking care of Bb-G eventhough I am not feeling well).

Rabbit with Teeth

Bb-G is considered a small size baby. She seeems to grow in length than grow in weight. Even a baby who is smaller age than her is larger. And sometimes Nanny's son-in-law likes to tease Papa-M and me, saying that both of us suck out all Bb-G's food! Anyway, healthy growing is the most important, right...

She is currently at her 9th month, and few days ago, I saw she "SUDDENLY" has 2 teeth, one on top, one at the bottom. I realised this when I "brush" her gum with my finger, yes, in the morning (at home & nanny's house), I would dab some Eu Yan Sang Bao Ying Dan on my wet finger and slightly massage her gum. My mum told me by doing this, Bb-G would have peaceful period during teething. Some babies have hard time, like fever, flu..etc.. And surprisingly Bb-G loves her Bao Ying Dan very much, she eats with "zap zap zap" sound, just like enjoying a sweet candy! And indeed, she never gives us any hard time too...(touch wood)
Anyway, so one Saturday when I glided my finger on her gum, I felt some sharp points. So happy to know she has teeth FINALLY! (My ex-housemate's baby who is one day younger than Bb-G has 2 pairs of teeth in full size)

Well, as she is growing, most of the smaller size clothings are too short for her, expecially the long sleeves blouses and pants. Her arms and legs are actually quite long. So I decided to keep those old clothings and let her wear some new sets. I realised that I have this in my "inventory box" which keeps all Bb-G new clothes. It was a white cottony jumper suit, a gift from an overseas friend. I put on her one night to sleep, and in my heart, she looks like a rabbit! A white rabbit with 2 small young teeth... LOL

My Idols

I have 2 forever-idols whom I adore very much till now.

One of them is a celebrity who no longer sings - Xiao Song. He is one of the twins brother goup (Xiao Song Xiao Bo) back in the 90's .
I even went to their concert few times when they came to my hometown for performance. The twins were well-known for their dance and sense of humour. I would definitely won't miss any of their shows on TV. I could remember I had actually lied to my parents that I had a bad stomachace which unable to go to school. This made my dad very worried about me, and insisted to bring me to the doctor. I got panicked while pretending to be sick, told him that I only need to rest and sleep and eat the Po Chai Pills. Sigh.,..I played truant just to listen to their interviews on the radio. Very bad huh... (Pray that Bb-G won't follow my footsteps ). Few years back Xiao Song became the judge of some singing talent shows, in Taiwan, Singapore also Malaysia. I everyday downloaded his show from Youtube. Even now, when I am free, I would still google and search for his updates. ^_^

My second idol is a writer. Because of him, I start to really love reading novels. He is Sidney Sheldon.
I read his 1st book during uni time, and then I simply cannot help myself to buy more. I was very crazy with his story layout till even when I was working in the office, my mind was still thinking of the novel I read. I had actually stopped reading for a while after birth, could not afford extra leisure time as I am always in tight routine with Bb-G. But now, since Bb-G has grown up to be a little bit independant (at least she can play on her own in her cot), I started my reading habit again. Recently bought another book of Sheldon's, but have not finished reading. Hence, I am back to my "cannot-concentrate-on-my-work-state" ....I keep thinking of the suspending plot and really want to fly back home immediately just to finsh the whole story. Guess today I must quickly make Bb-G sleep, so that I can have my true indulgence. Anyway, my idol passed away few years back. And this is one of the last two books that I have not finished reading. I shall get the last book to complete my collection. ^_^

Bad & Good Saturday

Went to a Malay wedding luncheon on Saturday. It was Papa-M's secretary's wedding, so 2 other colgs car pooled with us. It was in Seremban and according to the map, the directions to the bride's house looked very easy and straightforward. We assumed if we could reach in 45 mins from Klang Valley.
An unexpected turn of event happened, the place that we were heading to is not in a town centre, it is deep into the kampung area, with winding roads, up and down the hills, narrow lanes, and can see lots of goats, cows or even sheeps by the roadside, or even crossing the road. During the journey, Papa-M was driving, I sat beside him with the 2 girls behind us, all felt very giddy and hungry.
We started our journey about 1.00pm, and reached our destination about 3.45pm!
When we reached the bride's house, little food was leftover. I merely took one plate of rice, with some vege, chicken and beef, accompanied with a glass of mango juice. Food was good. Rest for a while and had some chit chat and photo taking, we head back home, using another route advised by the groom. Journey back was a bit easier, at least drove on a highway, but still very time consuming. Reached my house at 7.30pm. Was a very tiring trip.
Then when I reached home, quickly changed Bb-G into a bareback dress, ready to go over Nanny's grandson's 1st year birthday party. We were late for 1.5 hours. The last guests to reach, but still ample food left.
When Nanny's daughter was busy taking photos of the 2 little babies, I was busy doing taking their video. The birthday boy 1st time seeing Bb-G in a sexy dress, keep "touching" her....till Bb-G cry cry...LOL!

Some of the photos taken , both of them look like husband and wife ler...

Bb-G enjoyed her 1st time birthday party function. It was not a bad Saturday afterall....

Little Koala Bear

Ahyi-X came over on Saturday. When I was in the kitchen, she helped me to carry Bb-G who was then just woke up and still very groggy and temperamental. She refused to be put in the walker nor on the floor. Ahyi-X had to carry her all the time like a koala bear, and I think my sister's hands felt aching. So I asked her to use my newly bought baby carrier. But when Bb-G was being carried, again this little angry girl wanted her aunt to carry and walk all over the house. Ahyi-X could not stop, once she stopped to rest, Bb-G would cry loudly. Poor Ahyi-X, always kena bullied by a baby...!!

I just like this photo very much, definitely Bb-G was not laughing She was shouting for a merry-go-round.

New Food

Was a bit lazy to cook porridge and pan fry fish for Bb-G on Saturday. Hence tried a new very easy recipe. I steamed some florets of brocoli and a few slices of carrot, then boiled one small potato. Once they are cooked, I used the baby food grinder
and smashed till they are real smooth and soft.

Mix all together in a bowl, then add the premix hot water + marmite.

Ready to serve.

Think potato is very filling, Bb-G only finished about half of the portion I made...

On Her Own

During the weekend, I trained Bb-G to hold her own milk bottle,it was my first attempt and it worked! In the morning I just simply said this to her, " Hey Bb-G, nah ..hold your milk bottle" and at the same time, I led her hands towards the bottle. Then she used both her tiny hands to grab it, and if the milk was getting lesser, she would push the bottom so that the milk can flow easily to her mouth. Clever girl indeed! Since she could do this in the morning, then at anytime of the day, I just let her drink on her own, and me being a lazy mother just slept next to her until she finished her milk milk.... ^_^

Chubby

I find these 2 fellas are very CHuuBbbbY...! Feel like cuuuubit their cheeks

Want cubit is it? Come la!

Carrier

Sometimes,(mostly during Saturdays), Papa-M may need to work. So I am left at home with Bb-G in the day time. As I am a person who enjoy outings, and I think Bb-G also loves going out, I decided to bring Bb-G alone by myself when Papa-M is not free.
I do not want to carry the stroller with me, thinking it might be a bit troublesome. Therefore I think a baby carrier is more suitable and convenient. I can just carry her with both my hands FREE. And I feel that carrying a baby with in such a way looks so COOL....

I bought this online too. Upon looking and reading the details, I think this is for me. I actually has one baby carrier, but that one like spoilt a bit, when Bb-G is inside the pouch, can sense that she is uncomfortable.

Yeah.. this weekend if Papa-M is not free, then I am going to bring Bb-G out just like this... of course not in my pyjamas.....

Ahyi-X, you want to join me??

Birthday

When I was searching online for a gift to nanny's grandson (his 1st birthday coming soon), I "ter-noticed" this cute pair of shoes. Thinking that Bb-G's 1st birthday would reach in another 3 months time, I bought this sekaligus la..

I was warned by my mother, DO NOT allow a baby to wear shoes before 1 year old, pantang according to her. Saying that the baby would then lazy to walk or does not want to walk. Fine....guess sometimes we should listen to the old folks.

Well, this online shop provides gift wrapping, attached with a birthday card too.
Err...as for this rose which is in front of the box, seems not so suitable for a one-year-old boy. Anyway I still loves online shopping. Everything is so much convenient, goods delivered to my doorsteps too. How wonderful it is.

To the birthday boy: Mummy-J and Bb-G wish you "Happy Birthday" & may good health follows your path ALWAYS...

Abalone

In my company we have a dept to do product development. And this department is divided into 3 categories, Beauty, Health and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods). I am in the Beauty dept, developing skin care products and also skin device.
There was a meeting 2 days ago, and some of my colgs from my Beauty dept and also from the Health & FMCG had to attend, bringing in their products for presentation to the management. One of the products which is going to be launched for next year CNY is ABALONE ! A colg from FMCG dept who is in-charged of this project went to the market nearby our office during lunch time to buy some vege , But Why ? Because she had to prepare her "food presentation" !! Being an abalone lover and also a kepochi, I couldnt help myself to see what she did in the pantry.

She was boiling some water to cook her cauliflower. brocolli and carrot, dressed it nicely on a big plate, and then cut the shell fish and lay them nicely on top of the vege. She took out her handphone to take some shots, but sensing that a camera may do the good job for capturing good pictures, so I offered her my service and take some photos for her. See... yum yum ...
Too bad I was not invited to the meeting :(

Numb

I went for a medical check-up 2 months ago. When the results came, everything is perfect. During my cardio check, a female doctor asked me why do I need a check-up since I am still young in my early 30s. I told her that eversince 2005 which was the year I was down with dengue fever, my hands numb until now. Yes, for a cool 5 years. The numbness never goes away, it is constant and almost can feel every second, every minute, every hour. Until a stage whereby even when I am holding a spooon, or chopsticks, I feel numbness. When I take my shower and hold the handle, I feel numbness. When I am typing on my keyboard, I feel numbness. When I am sms-ing, I feel numbness........I could remember one night when I was sleeping, my whole body numbed and I fell down from my bed. I was terribly shocked, and scared to death that I may get stroke! Yah, nowadays young people can get stroke too....
Back then in 2005, I went to an orthopeadic for consultation. He told me my nerves could be shrunk and narrow due to dengue, could be one of the after effect. By the way, my dengue was a severe one. I was hospitalised for 8 nights and my blood pallete dropped to 33. My nose bled. My whole body in pain and ache. A drop of 5kg in a week. Then I suffered from a lot of side effect, hair fall till can see my scalp, arthritis which make my knees in pain when I walked., my liver was attacked by the virus, detoxification was difficult, thus pimples breakout on my face. Red blood cell dropped and I feel aneamic and giddy..It took me at least 4-6 months to fully recover, except for this numb problem.

So the doctor who examined me during my check up told me the same thing. My nervous system is narrow, thus blood circulation could be poor. There isn't any cure, but can prevent it from getting worse. He advised me not to stress so much, eg., should not carry heavy things, this will burden my nerves. I should always relax my body and body massage is very good for me. I used to massage every week before pregnant, but now, with Bb-G, it is a little bit difficult to go out during weekend, unless Papa-M is free to stay at home. Doc also prescribe me Methylcorbal to ease nerves system. I had been taking it for 2 months, and can sense that my hands has less numbness but it does not go away.

To self help myself, I take these actions
1) Stop carrying heavy things --> quite impossible, as I need to carry Bb-G everyday. But I prevent taking real heavy stuffs if possible
2) Body Massage - go for massage everyweek is quite hard too. Bought a handheld massager , and can do massage everyday when I free.

3) Know that oatmilk can actually help to regulate nervous system. Bought a tin of oatmilk with beetroot formula. Take everymorning or evening in office. Beetroot is also known to boost up red blood cells.

Well, I don't expect the numb will go away, but I hope by doing all this, it won't get any more serious.....

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

This morning, after dropping Bb-G in Nanny's house, I went to the petrol station to fill up my car. When I fininshed pumping, I drove off. After 5 mins drive, I noticed (through the side window ) I actually didn't close back my oil tank cover. When stopped at the highway waiting for traffic light to turn green, I was thinking to go down and close it back, but looking at the road condition, and somemore "over worried" that once I came out, later someone may rob me (oh yeah, sometimes those news I read make me feel that on-the-road-safety is very low). So I just ignored and drove all the way to office for 40 mins just like this....

Imagine if that cover is as big as a wing, then my car can fly ! Cool man! LOL....

Aunty & Niece

I wonder are all nieces very close to their aunties?

Bb-G likes my sister, Ahyi -X very much. Whenever Ahyi-X comes over my house, Bb-G's face would sparkle with a very broad smile and she throws herself to her dearest aunty for hug hug. Sometimes they will "talk" to each other. I remember one morning when both of them woke up, Bb-G was looking at my sister, eyes no blinking and talked "baaaab..baaab...baaab....baaab......" and this continued for a close 5 minutes. Both of them "baaab" to each other. It was a very cute indeed!
Then Bb-G also loves to stay close with Ahyi-X, anyway my little girl just enjoys her aunt's company. I pray this close relationship remains forever....

Mi Suah

I cooked mi suah for Bb-G on Saturday. Early in the morning, I made the soup base with anchovies, dried scallops and chicken breast, boiled for more than 2 hours. Then by lunch time, I threw some mi suah into the stock and let it cooked until smooth and soft. Added a small piece of white tofu into the soup ,smashed till it became smaller before feeding to her. Pan fried a small piece of salmon to go with the noodles too. Not only Bb-G enjoyed her lunch, Papa-M was also very "excited" to take her daughter's first time makan mi suah at home ...........

Soto

One day, Papa-M brought me a newly opened Malay food restaurant nearby our house, and I actually fond of the taste. So, last weekend I asked my siblings along, without Papa-M as he had another dinner appointment with friends. 2 reasons why I want to bring my siblings there
(a) all of us come from the south
(b) want to tell my sister to order this dish - soto!

I remember very clearly until now, when I was in my secondary school, the canteen always had soto for morning break. And most of the time, I would eat this with lots of spicy cili kicap. RM 1 per plate, so cheap! My gang of friends also love it. My sister is actually 13 years younger than me, and this soto still selling in my school canteen. But according to her, the taste was actually quite bland, could be someone else took over the canteen contract but still remain this popular soup dish.

I prefer soto nasi, so I ordered this. The soup taste is exactly like my ex-school style 13 years back.

Brought along Bb-G. We sat outside the shop for the breeze.

She knows she cannot eat Malay food, so makan kaki la!

Somemore sat like a samseng when taking photo with me....

Dono why brother smile until like that ...??

I also ordered laici drink, and sister commented I am actually drinking plain water with 3 pitiful canned fruits! Actually, quite true also....Not really worth for RM 2..
