Very Tight Again..

Haha.... no no... I didnt sleep with Bb-G in her room, no more "tight" for her. But tight for me, I had tight schedules lately, so many things happened for the past 2 weeks.

1) Bb-g started her kindy 2 weeks ago. Well,  it is school holiday at this time but I've got Bb-G enrolled into her kindy holiday camp so that she can adapt to the "school life" a month ahead before her actual class starts next January. Since her holiday camp starts at 8.30am every morning, I have to make myself very discipline to wake up on time. I cannot laze around on my bed and snooze my alarm clock anymore..so sad....so sad....

I can still rememeber before she went for kindy, I woke up at 7.30am, sometimes lepak on the bed till 7.40am. Took my shower. Came out from bathroom, went to kitchen, made milk for Bb-G. Pass her the milk bottle, then  back to my room to makeover and changed into my office wear. Made myself a cup of lemon juice+honey. Drank. Went back to her room, woke her up again (yah, she slept back after milk). Told her to shee shee, let her drink some plain water, then drove to nanny house by 8.30am. I didn't bother to brush her teeth because I know she could do it in nanny's house when she took her morning bath there.

Now my morning routine changed.... 7.00am alarm clock rings. Wake up immediately. Make milk and pass to Bb-G. I brush teeth, take shower. Make over, then change to office wear. That was 7.30am. Woke Bb-G up, and let her pee. Wash her bum bum, brush her teeth, wipe her face and body. Change her kindy wear, tie her hair. Pack her bottle water and school bag. That was 8.10am. Time to go out, reach kindy by 8.15am. Drop her, then drive to office......

2) My sister-in-law from Perth came back to Malaysia for a  2-month-vacation on Sunday. Herself with the 3 kids  dropped by to my house and stayed for few days before they  go back to Papa-M's hometown in the north. On Sunday, I prepared dinner to welcome them. I made yam rice and Sezhuan-cai soup. Few relatives also came by to visit them. The house was so merry, with many adults and kids around ! Besides my homecook food, we had yong taufu (bought from shop) , durians and watermelon.  They went off last night to Uncle TH's house before going back to north, so Papa-M belanja the family dinner yesterday. We had the restaurant steam fish + steam prawns  and some other dishes like stir-fry green, claypot tofu and sweet sour pork for the kids..... All about food ya, when someone overseas came to visit! hahahah!

3) Nothing else but work. Few urgent assignments on the timeline schedule but finally they were settled by yesterday...

4) This morning when I put water bottle in Bb-G's school bag, there was a notice  given by the teacher. The kindy is going to celebrate X'mas and have party next month. Each kid must contribute a X'mas present. Ho ho ho.... see , the kid is enjoying, but the mother needs to prepare the present, siap siap with wrapping paper somemore.  Guess this is just the starting point.....more to come!

Very Tight

Yesterday was a public holiday (Deepavali). On Monday night, I lepak in Bb-G's room, together with my younger sister. I was too tired and sleepy, and also very much lazy to walk back to my room to sleep, hence I told Bb-G I wanted to sleep with her on her bed. She agreed most happily since she could manja with me.  So, Bb-G and me on the same bed, and my sister slept on the pull-out bottom bed.

I dozed off very quickly.....

Suddenly, in the middle of the night, Bb-G tossed and turned, I opened my eyes and looked at her..
She made some noises " Arhkk arhkkk...very tight ar...."

I ignored her, but then, pulled my body to the most edge of the bed, making sure that she had ample space. (In fact, I slept very 'straight" and without making much movement, she had enough space on her side actually)

And I dozed off again. (yup, I was very very tired, PMS I believe)

Then again, Bb-G made more noise. She even woke me up and said
"Mummy, very tight lar, you go back to your room and sleep!"

Me: Haiya, not tight lar, u sleep now can or not.... (and I push myself again to the corner of the bed, making sure I never cross her border)

Bb-G: Very tight lar....very tight!!

Me: ZZZzzzzzzz....... (slept till the next morning)

Hahahahaha!

How Tall Are You

I make effort to make Bb-G "fatter"  , the more I do, the "taller" she becomes pulak...

Each time when I realised she is a bit taller (by noticing she can reach a higher number by pressing the lift button), bb-G would request me to check her height.

Bb-G: Mummy, see how tall am I now?

Mummy-J: Stand straight

1 cm increase after 2 weeks.
Bb-G @ 3years-2months-12 days old = 95cm

T.I.G.S

Read  MNHL's recent post where she reviewed on the mihun soup she ate in Seremban. That had actually reminded SP and me the wonderful taste of this particular Malay soup dish where we used to eat during our secondary school days in T.I.G.S. (1990-1996)
I am not sure if this dish is still selling now, but during my younger sister's years (roughly 2004-2009), mihun soup / soto soup was indeed still a hot and welcoming food during the morning break. My younger "god-sister" is currently studying in the same school, perhaps I should check with her if the canteen is still having this same dish or not....ha ha ha...

I totally agreed with MNHL, the MUST HAVE  would be the sambal kicap. Without the sambal kicap, the mihun soup is incomplete. Yesterday I had an urge to cook myself a bowl of mihun soup, and I really craved for the sambal kicap too. When I opened the fridge, was glad I kept some cili padi. Without any hessitation, I made my version of sambal kicap for the very first time.

Red cili padi, these are the really hot type. Washed and de-seed.

Together with some shallots, put them into blender, added a bit of salt and sugar. End result

Mixed with dark soy sauce. To get the right taste (similar to T.I.G.S), I "fine-tune" with some sugar. Perfect!

Then, I cooked mihun soup. Without having any chicken bone/pork bone and Malay spices,  I make the broth with ikan bilis and garlic. Again, without any fried chicken, I just dumped pork slices, fresh vegs, fu-chuk, served with crunchy ikan bilis and my home-made sambal kicap.

Mixed the sambal kicap into my soup...

White colour soup became brownish, I had a fantastic dinner last night!! Glad Papa-M also loved it too...

Spa

When I writing this...how I wish I can go to do spa again...... hmmmm

Lately I had been watching some TVB dramas, yes, "SOME DRAMAS" at the same time.

1st drama - Highs and Lows, all about drug trafficking + police show. A lot of twists and I like police show a lot.

2nd drama -  Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles. I was attracted to watch this drama because I want to see why Travia Yeung will fall in love with Liu Song Ren (can become her father) who had already 3 wives...And they kissed in the drama, very professional !
And I was very surprise too when I saw "Xiao Long Nu" , the actress acted with Andy Lau in "The Return of the Condor Heroes". Her face doesn't have much changes but can see her ageing signs.

3rd drama - Wax and Wane. I do not want to watch it at first, but due to the unfinished episode load of the 1st and 2nd drama in the PPS.tv system,  I was so restless and simply click a show to watch....a drama talking about noodle making...so so only...
Because of all these drama, I slept quite late for the past few nights. And my body started to ache and pain (due to lack of sleep). So 'ngam" my company spa is having open house due to 5th Anniversary, the promotion is very attractive, making me to sign up a body spa package.

By the way, not only having free food during the open house, anyone who comes and buya a 1st trial voucher at RM88 can get a goodie bag, which includes collagen drink, free 2 vouchers of StoneSpa  (oh this is the stone spa I did the other day, and I just got to know it is the 1st gemstone spa in South East Asia) , and another 50% discount voucher.

And if I buy a body spa or facial treatment package , at the lowest price at RM1,388,  I can get free RM1,500 value worth of treatment.
Very attractive !
Hmmm.... now I am thinking, should I or should I not taking up a new package????

Good Mood For Food

Maybe it is towards end of the year, with all the festive seasons/public holidays queueing up , and maybe after the short Perth trip, my appetite  was very good lately. I just cannot help myself with chocolates, milk, pies, and all sort of food which are savoury....Gosh, I believe I put on weight !!

Anyway...... let me enjoy first , I shall plan to slim down...errr....soon....

For the past weekends, I prepared these

1) Curry chicken
This curry paste was bought by Papa-M from Australia. Funny rite, all the way to ang moh country to buy curry paste. Since he wanted to try , so I cooked for him. A Thai brand.  In the packaging there was a statement " can reduce the portion for a milder taste". So I thought this curry paste must be very very spicy and full of "kick". Since we all love strong curry, I decided to use one whole pack.

Following the instruction, and I made some twist (due to the raw materials from my kitchen and fridge) , I sauteed the bombay onions until fragrant, added in the curry paste, then poured a small amount of santan and some fresh milk, put in chicken chunks, potatos and tomatoes. Cooked till done. The whole house smelled heavenly!

When we ate, no curry taste, not spicy at all, and a bit sour......
Conclusion - thank you very much, no more second time

2) Shepard Pie
It was quite some time I never make this pie. In Perth, sis-inlaw made this for our breakfast. When I came back home, I really missed the taste, thus last weekend I finally baked it.
Again, with whatever ingredients at home, I marinated the gound pork with salt, pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce. Cooked together with bombay onions and corns.

Pressed the meat nicely and flatly in the caseroles.I made 2, one small pot, another bigger pot Leave them for a while

Boiled potatos until soft, mashed them, add some salt, butter and fresh milk, mixed well

Mashed potato laid on top of the cooked ground pork. I only have cheddar cheese in the fridge, so i put on top.

Put in the oven, bake

Next, EAT !

Bb-G and me finished one whole caserole (small pot)...yumm yummm

Technology

Few days ago when I read SP's blog, I remember at the end of the post she wrote this -
"Just how technology has changed the way we interact."
I told her, I like this phrase.

Because with technolgy, 2 persons from 2 different lands , separated by oceans and seas can still communicate , just like this two fellas....

Only after few days Bb-G came back from Perth, she missed her sister cousin, and vice versa...
So both mothers (sil & me) had to switch on our skype and let them "keng gai"

Skype was not enough, need to use walkie talkie somemore...Kids, they are just too cute huh....

Saturday,20/10/2012,Perth

Today was our last day in Perth.... So sad....

It was a family outing, we went out for our lunch in Northbridge (Chinatown) again, this time we had Hong Kong dishes.

A combination of roast duck, roast chicken, roast pork and charsiew

Noodle with oyster sauce

Char siew fried rice - I barely ate this, one spoonful for me was just enough, I couldn't tolerate the porky stench

We went to the park after lunch.

Drove along this way to reach Kings Park

A remarkably huge and lovly park, love it so much. Suitable for any event!

The family consists of 12 people, hence we travelled in 2 separate cars. Sis-in-law was in the car Papa-M drove, therefore we reached Kings Park earlier than the other batch of family members.
Before they came over to the park, they actually went to another park nearby..which I do not know the name. But from the photos taken, it should be nice too....

While waiting for them to come, I laid a picnic mat and we just lepak under the sun and breezy wind...
Before Bb-G's "gang" reached, she manja with Papa-M  and me

Piggybacking  by papa

Hugs from mummy

When her gang came, she totally forgot who gave birth and brought her to the world.... so sad huh...

Bb-G and her aunty, do they look alike?

Grandpa, daughter, granddaughter...from the same clan

Bb-G rolled on the green green grass....for the very first time! She had fun!

When they were tired....

At a place like this, everyone would be lovey dovey...

We took family potraits too...

The 1st son's family

The 2nd son's family

The 3rd daughter's family

A complete family

Few hours in the park, we went off, did some grocery and back for dinner.
Last dinner before we flew back to Malaysia the very next morning....

Bye Bye Perth, we shall come back again......

Friday, 19/10/2012, Perth

We had a family outing on this day, but without sis-in-law's hubby, he was working.
We went for dimsum in the morning, I should say that was our breakfast+lunch. Had the meal at a Chinese restaurant in Northbridge (Chinatown)

The dimsum was just ok to my taste....

As soon as we finished our food, we drove to Hillary's Harbour, and then stopped by at the seaside to take photo...again, I was amazed with the beautiful blue sea and white sands

Then,  we drove towards Sorento Quay Boardwalk, which,  it is just on the ocean

At this place we could found many stalls and shops selling all sorts of items, and a wide variety of restaurants

Boats/yachts could be seen too. Gorgeous place ......

Mom-in-law with the 3 kids, going towards a playground

Bb-G enjoyed playing with sands...

Papa-M and his siblings

Me, with Papa-M and mom-in-law. It started to drizzle ...the while spots were actually rain water drops

We had hard time to get the kids out from the playground.... the only thing to make them stopped playing was buying them ice cream!

Kids, they were always the happiest when we went "gai gai"..., playing nose pinching game

After the ice-cream we went into a shop, having 50% clearance sales. Papa-M bought himselves some shirts, a cap and handicrafts. He bought for me a genuine kangaroo skin leather wallet and coin pouch.
Finished shopping, we drove back home, and had steamboat as our dinner.

We did secret plan to surprise mom-in-law. We secretly bought her a birthday cake during the day time, and when towards end of the dinner, we switched off the lights , took out the cake and sang birthday song. She was overwhelmed when Uncle TH passed her a present

Cake blowing... I wondered who actually blew off the candle, mom-in-law ? or Bb-G ? haha
It was an apple strudle. Tasty,,,

"Cake" cutting ceremony

Grandparents with all her cucu. Mom-in-law felt very touched, I believe...

A family potrait

Her present - Samsung Galaxy Tab, shared by all children. Actually she had been thinking to get an tablet, the children fulfilled her birthday wish..

(To be continued)
