Resolution

My year end resolution is to slim down and be healthier. I wish and hope to reduce at least 8 kg before CNY.
Soon after the 191111 TIGS gathering, I immediately started my weight loss plan. I consume NO rice/noodles and stop eating deep fried food. Basically I eat more veges, lean meat , fish and eggs. I break my food into very small portion at each meal but eat frequently when I feel hungry. Fruits come very handy at the time when I need. I prevent myself to starve, so that my brain will stop me from craving the food with high fats and calories..I prepare healthy soup in the morning and bring it to office for lunh.
For morning, I make myself either hard boil egg or scramble egg. I eat my egg with tomoto salad (sliced tomotoes and season with salt and pepper) At night, I settle my dinner with yogurt ,soy drink, or steam chicken & vege. Strictly and absolutely NO SUPPER.
Besides being cautious with my food, I do exercise at home. Although I do not ride on my skywalker cum bike everyday, I will make sure I do it during the weekends. With my favorite drama , I can exercise in front of the TV for about for quite some time without stop. Oh ya, I am glad Papa-M starts his exercise routine at home too. He can wake up earlier in the morning to exercise before going to the office, and he can also exercise at night after come back to work. Exactly like me, he does it in front of his TV show… A very BIG THANK YOU to the person who invented TELEVISION.
Next, I also visit my usual beauty centre as often as I can. My therapist will help me to do slimming massage. She uses her fingers to push ,knead and slap my entire body to break the stubborn fats. At certain part, I feel the pain, but tolerable.

As per todate, after a week of diet, I had actualy lose 3kgs. I am really looking forward to have a lighter weight and slimmer shape in 2 months time!

Pumpkin Beancurd

This is a dish I planned to cook for my friends for dinner during the Saturday gathering, however all of them were too full, so I did not.

I cooked this dish on Sunday night instead.

Cut pumpkin into small cubes, put into blender and add some water. Pureed.
Cut beancurd into desired sized. Pan fried.

In a wok, slightly fry garlic and shallot until fragrant, put in some mushroom and black fungus. Pour in the pumpkin puree. Add edequate water, salt, pepper to taste. Before switch off the fire, put in the beancurd. Easy to prepare, healthy to eat for Bb-G and the adults too.

Pink

Usually when Bb-G is at home, I always let her dress in comfortable home wear like sleeveless top and panty. But last Sunday late noon , it rained heavily and the temperature was slightly low. I quickly grabbed Bb-G's sweater and wore on her body immediately. Never did I realise that she has outgrown this pink flowery sweater. But she still looked cute in it.

Papa-M quickly snapped some photos, and the little cheeky girl quickly posed to her best styles

Hey, Kopi-O 2 cawan

Haiya, kasi 3 cawan lar

Ooi, I am Tai-Kor, you know or not?

Want to cari gaduh is it??

Haiya.... jangan takut saya lar...

Come, let us sing Old Mac donald had a farm, eei ya eei ya ooooo

Gathering 191111

I have never expected to hold a gathering with my ex TIGS schoolmates in my house. One day, SP from Singapore suddenly emailed to me and MNHL, telling us that she would be coming to KL for a wedding lunch, and had got sone time for a meet up.
Instead of us - the mothers, went all the way to KL to meet her with the kids, might as well we had a get together in my place. And I was most happily to provide them with my homecook food.

On Saturday morning, my biological clock woke me up at 7.15am. I intended to sleep for a little while, but I couldnt't. Maybe I was just too excited and looking forward to the gathering. Since I woke up so early, I quickly made the mihun kueh dough. This time, with some kids around , I specially made a healthier version of mihun kueh. I used organic flour

Organic oil

Organic mountain salt (I cook with this salt too, prefer mountain salt than sea salt)

Permium eggs

My mihun kueh dough.

Glad that all of them loved the mihun kueh so much.

SP reached my place earler than MNHL and SL. SP and me chit chat, played with Bb-G and also watched some bits and parts from Forensic 3. By 4 pm, both the mothers with their kids arrived. Besides mihun kueh, MNHL bought us some Seremban famous siewpao and Indian rojak, SL took over some jelly made by her mom. Before that Papa-M went out and tapao some assam laksa. We really had a FOOOOD GATHERING!
The kids had so much fun playing toys together. Initially YX was very shy, but after he warmed himself up with the two younger toddlers, he became very active. Needless to say, Bb-G and her "best friend forever" Lerler, clicked at once when they met each other! With the 3 kids around, my bouse was hit by a tsunami-toysssss-wave! Anyway, by end of the day, the kids did help to keep all the toys back to to the proper place.

After the teabreak, we let our tummies relax and destressed for a while before I made them steam salted herbal chicken drumsticks, rice and radish soup for dinner.
Since MNHL had to catch a train back to Seremban, our gathering ended before 8pm.

Some photos we took at home before we left the house to send MNHL to the station, and SP to the hotel.

Where Are You?

Last week I attended a seminar/workshop. The hotel which organized the workshop was quite near to Papa-M’s office, and thus we car pooled. He dropped me first before he went into his office. Before we left the house, I took my usual working shoes from my car and transferred them into Papa-M’s car. I was very very sure and certain, I took both shoes in a pair.

Before we reached the hotel lobby, I quickly took off my slippers and wore the working shoes. Suddenly I found that I only had one shoe, the other one was missing! I panic. I searched the whole car and I couldn’t find it. GOSH!!
Papa-M started to get annoyed and complained. He told me to get down with my STRIKING ORANGE slippers, then by lunch time, I could buy proper shoes since the hotel is next to few shopping malls. But I couldn’t do it, I was wearing dark grey suits, if my slippers were black and presentable, I would not mind, but my rubbery slippers was those “kiap” between 2 toes, and it was orange in colour, how could I walk into the hotel and seminar hall in such a state.

Papa-M then told me his story- few years back when he went to his school alumni where Dr Mahathir was there too, his pants zip was trapped and he couldn’t zip up during the entire function, and he just left it as it is.
He proofed to me that he could do it, so he said I should be thick skin enough to wear my orange slippers to the workshop. But then I told him, he was wearing a batik shirt which was long enough to cover his unzipped part, but my case was a woman who wore orange slippers with dark suits to a workshop! And both of us laughed in the car.

I became very anxious because no 1, Papa-M was having stomachache and he wanted to rush back to his office to pang-sai, and no 2, my workshop was going to start soon. I quickly called a colleague who joined me in the workshop to ask if she had any extra shoes in her car. I was very lucky, she always keeps her sandals in the car, but her size is smaller than mine, anyway, they were used for emergency so I just bear for a while.

During lunch time, I quickly grab my food and ate soonest possible. Since there was an extra one hour before the noon session began, I quickly went to the nearby mall and searched for shoes. You know what, before I managed to buy any shoes, I already shopped for some clothes, and I bought 5 pieces of blouses in Padini. And they only cost me RM 18.80 in TOTAL !!! Soooo cheap (the outlet was having 70 -80% sales, and some of the blouses were sold at 3 pcs for RM5 !!!)

Then, I walked around to search for shoes. I saw La Primavera was having sales too, and happened to get a pair which were quite ok for only RM59. Without thinking much and with the small sandals under my feet, I just grabbed and walked back to the hotel again.

In fact until now, I can’t figure out what happened to my missing working shoe. I actually liked them very much, they were comfortable and I wear them for almost 2 years. So now, I have to wear this new heels to work, but I began to realise they were too high for me.

Usually colgs and me walk to the food court during lunch, and we have to cross the main road by walking up the pedestrian bridge. My legs became very sore until yesterday I couldn’t tolerate any further, I bought a cheap sandals and keep them in the office.

I shall wear the sandals when I need to walk during lunch. As for the new heels, I shall just keep in the office to standby, eg, meeting up with overseas guests, going to meetings/discussion or walking a very short distance to other departments ...

Same

The other day when I was taking out my hair blower, I saw this ... Somebody put her striking pink colour hair blower next to mine.

When I want to comb my hair and took my comb from my dressing table, I saw this ...Somebody put her striking pink colour comb next to mine

When she takes her noon nap in the playroom, I saw this ...She sleeps on the pillow, hugging her bolster, her "jiejie" must sleep like her too.

Today, Bb-G at 2 years 2 months 2 weeks old understand what is the meaning of "SAME"

You've Got Mail

Last Wednesday was Papa-M's birthday. It was a working day, so we only went out for a dinner at night. I DIY a birthday card for him and my plan was to put it into our mailbox. Usually Papa-M is the one who will pick up letters, so I think this would make him a surprise! I even took Bb-G to the mailbox area and told her to insert the envelope into the mailbox.

Out of my expectation, there isn't any hole in the mailbox at the front part, and in order to post the birtday card, I have to go behind the mailbox area to insert the envelope. I always thought that all mailbox has a hole just like this

But I realise my condo mailbox is something different, must use key to open the mailbox to collect letters. And this front area is beyond the reach of postmen. So when a postman want to deliver mails, he has to go to another room behind the mailbox. What happen was, I didnt have the mailbox key with me.

Hence, I took Bb-G to the postman room but AGAIN, out of my expectation, the room was locked. Sigh.... and I believe when a postman want to access into that room, our security guard will unlock the door for him. And now I realise what a tight security the condo does.

To my dismay, I ended up pretending that I had collected a letter from the mailbox, and then told Bb-G to pass to her father. Sigh again.... Papa-M at one look, already know the letter was not genuine. My surprise plan shattered!!

Anyway, since it was his birthday, I let the birthday boy choose what he wanted to eat for dinner. We ate at a vegetarian restaurant. Ordered 3 dishes - ginger steam cod fish, pumpkin tofu and spinach soup.

Totally Changed

I am a fan of this drama – Huanzhu Gege 10 years ago.

And recently, I just finished watching the remake of this Chinese drama – New Return of the Princess Pearl (Xin Huanzhu Gege).

I feel like writing something about this show here….

Compare to the previous HZGG, I found that in the older version, the male lead Er Kang was like a superhero in the drama. But in this new version, Benjamin, an additional new cast who was the angmoh palace artist acted more like a superhero, and Er Kang seemed to have lower profile. This Benjamin knew everything in the world, he could cook, he could sing, he could play violin, he spoke good Mandarin, he wrote in Chinese and he also had medical knowledge! Towards the end of the show, and when I was watching the last episode, I felt that Benjamin was very “lebih” , just like what my sister said too. I just don’t understand why the writer created this role, made him like a hero, but then so kesian….He could only shower his love to the woman he loved, but he would not get anything in return. End of the day, he was left alone, and gotta leave China and back to his country in pain...

Xiao Yanzi in new HZGG was more intelligent and more knowledgeable. She was not so irritating and naïve compare to the older version.

I still like Ruby Lin’s Ziwei in the old HZGG. When I observed the new Ziwei China actress , I realized when she never smiled her mouth shape was quite odd, it looked like a “U” in upside down , i.e.,” n” . In another word, she has bitter face when she never smile. She could not bring out the character of Ziwei who was supposedly a beautiful, graceful, gentle, caring, soft-spoken young lady + princess. Most of her scenes with Er Kang, I just skipped because they were too long winded. Oh yah, by the way, the new Er Kang was good looking.

For Wu Ahge, I still prefer Su You Peng as he was more cheerful and look better too. The actor of new Wu Ahge has sharp long face. As for Er Tai, I wonder how come in the older version, he was the shortest among ErKang and Wu Ahge, but in the new version, he was the tallest, and he talked very maturely, even more matured than her elder brother ErKang.

I like new Qing-er, in fact I also like the old Qing-er. New Qing-er really had strong characters. She had her own opinions, her thoughts and she dared to pursue her love, her life and her dreams. Moreover, new Qing-er looked very sweet, exactly resemble a princess. I also like new Xiao Jian, I couldn’t describe more about him, but I just like the way Xiaojian in the new series.

I found that Liu Xuehua is a bit too young to act as the empress dowager. No doubt her acting has been always good, she should play such an old grandmother’s role in another 10 -15 years time.

The new empress and her old maid, both of them didnt look evil at all!

Overall, I enjoyed the new HZGG. No doubt certain parts were quite dragging but still acceptable. And thanks to my sister who helped to download 98 episodes…

And now, I am following the HK drama – Forensic Heroes 3, a total change of all casts from the 1st and 2nd parts, just like Huanzhu gege ....

With the Family

Due to Hari Raya Haji, my parents came to Kl for holidays. Usually when parents were here, we would eat out , but this trip mom really coooooked for us to the max.
They reached on Saturday noon time, just the right time for lunch.. Eversince Bb-G started to accept rice for her meals, I will always cook “one-pot-rice” for lunch during weekends.
I call it one-pot-rice because all I need to do is to throw “everything” in my rice cooker and let it cook. Example, last Saturday I saw some leftover purple cabbage and some minced pork in the fridge. So I separately stir fried the cabbage, then the pork , and I also stir fried the uncooked washed white rice on the pan. After that, I mixed everything into the rice cooker and let it cook.

Simple and easy. Sometimes I also cook pumpkin rice, carrot+potato rice, mushroom rice.

Anyway, after parents ate my purple cabbage one-pot-rice, we just chit chat, and then both of them went to my brother’s house. At night, mom cooked dinner for us, she was the tukang masask, I was the pembantu kitchen.
I couldn’t recall what we ate on Saturday night …. Sigh… but I think, we had stirfried spinach, braised pork in soy sauce, old cucumber soup, steam otak-otak. A short while after the dinner, mom suggested to have red wine. We enjoyed the wine while munching some crackers and peanuts. We chit chat and laughed. It was a relaxing night just being at home with family members.

On Sunday, supposedly our plan was to the shopping mall in the morning, but suddenly I oso-dono-why, the event was changed. Parents woke up quite early and went to the wet market. When I woke up by 8.30am, mom told me she wanted to cook brunch for us. And again, she was the tukang masak, I was the pembantu kitchen.

By 10.30am, all the dishes were done. She cooked Hainanese chicken rice, of course come with the white chicken, pan fried fish, stirfry tauge, soy sauce pork, stirfry mixed bean (long bean+ okra+brinjal) and radish soup.
Before 1pm, all of us finished our breakfast+lunch.

After that we went to the mall to “exercise”. Mom said after a full meal, we should go to the shopping mall and walk, this can burn the fat that we ate. Furthermore we’ve got free aircon. ^_^
We spent some time buying some groceries in Jusco. Then, we went to Old Town to have a tea break. Papa-M ordered a very fusion mix of beverage which I found it very weird and overly too sweet. It is a mixture of soybean, gula Melaka and cincau. I didn’t really like it.

We reached home before 5pm, after a short rest, parents went to the park for some evening exercise. I stayed at home to watch the previously download New Huanzhu Gege. By late evening, mom suggested to cook again for us, and this round she fried mihun only. I told her, a verysimple dinner will do, no need to cook many many dishes, because me, the pembantu kitchen, very lazy to bantu her in the kitchen anymore….hahaha !
But then, after the mihun dinner, I prepared them dessert. We had tang yuen in ginger soup. I bought the ready made frozen tangyuen from Jusco earlier, so we had peanut and black sesame sweet tangyuen dessert at night. Mom suggested to have another round of red wine session, but nobody entertained her request…… All of us just lepak in the living room watching show.

Monday morning, we took parents out to have a breakfast before they drove back to hometown...

I Realise.....

Papa-M is just like a cushion for Bb-G. I realise she just loves to sleep, lie or sit on the father’s chest. I think his body is large enough, his muscles are not either too hard or too soft, just comfortable for the little one to lepak as long as she wants.

Few weeks ago, I saw this scene...

Yesterday I saw another scene

I also realise that Bb-G has a set of long fingers and a set of long toes. Both husband and myself have short fingers/toes which look like potatos. But Bb-G’s fingers are so long , which twe strongly believe the genes defintely come from neither one of us.

They are playing with fingers.

Shoes

I am not a shoe lover. I don’t collect shoes. But whenever there is a special occasion which requires me to get a pair of proper shoes to match my attire, I will definitely go all the way to hunt for it.

My working shoes, usually the normal heels would roughly last me for a year. By the time I wear for about six months, I need to send them to the cobbler for some repair, either at the sole, or the straps. And this can make the shoes last for another six months before I am wiiling to throw them away and get another pair.

There is a special place where I like to keep my variety types of shoes – in my car. When I drive, I don’t wear shoes. I feel that with shoes covering my feet, I could not touch the paddle properly. I even have a big shoes bag purposely bought to organise the shoes in my car. I keep a pair of working shoes, a pair of high heels and a pair presentable sandals. I will select which to wear depending on where I go and to what occasion.

Few months ago I bought a pair of white high heel pumps to attend a function. Bb-G had already took her chance to wear BEFORE me.

And she claimed that were her shoes
