Story #1 : Tamil

I was with Bb-G in her room and it was time to sleep.
Me: Good nite sayang..
Bb-G: Good nite mummy....vanekam
Me: Huh...vanekam??? Who teach you this?
Bb-G: Daddy lar.... vanekam means hello...
Me: oooooo....
Bb-G : I tel Teacher Baroo, Teacher Hema, Teacher Sathi tat my daddy know how to talk in Tamil...
Me: oooo....then..
Bb-G: then they say OOOOOO lor....then after tat Teacher Baroo told me when she see daddy later, she wan to talk to daddy in Tamil....

Explanation : Recently Bb-G keeps speaking Tamil with me at home. She has many Indian teachers who teach in computer lesson, cooking class, Cambridge Junior English and even the day care teacher who help her to bathe, to sleep and tie her hair...Most of the time the teachers communicate in Tamil with each other, and she enjoying listening to them....and lagi enjoy talking in Tamil with me at home.....

Story #2 : Pancake

Me: So what did you learn yesterday in  your cooking class?
Bb-G: Oooo....I have a new teacher already, she is Teacher Pavathi....yesterday we make banana pancake
Me: Oooo...
Bb-G: I tell you how I do ...ok...put banana in a pot, then after tat put some oil, then after tat put the...the....errr....wat already ar.....oh flour...one ..two...three...four....

Explanation : Since she starts her cooking class in the school,  she really loves to stay with in the kitchen when I am cooking. She will be very helpful to help me take salt, pepper, and other seasonings while I cook. But after a while, she will complain she sweat and perpired and will either take her chair and sit at the corner of the kitchen, or went back to her room and switch on the aircon to cool herself down......tsk tsk tsk....

Story #3: Sandwich

We were in Giant and walked pass Subway.
Me: Eh you know how to make sandwich? I show you...(I bring her into Subway and show her how people place order and how the sandwich was done)
Bb-G: Mummy....I want to eat...I promise you I will not waste the food....I promise you I will finish eating the sandwich
Me: Huh...you sure or not? (I don't believe her because she could have tell me this out of curiousity)
Bb-G: Yes...please mummy....I want to eat ....

So I bought one 6-inch Subway sandwich for her, and she selected roast chicken with cucumber, tomato and ketchup. Then we drove home. In the car

Bb-G: wah....smells so good....can I eat now?
Me: no, go back home to eat...

Back home, she was so impatient, couldn't even wait to open the wrapper and wanted to quickly eat her sandwich. Indeed she really enjoyed her food and managed to finish all...I was very surprised and amazed...

Me: So do you like the sandwich?
Bb-G: yes....very nice.....nicer than McDxxxxx ....

Gasspppppp.....

Ladybird

Few weeks ago I felt my shoulders and back was very stiff. And gradually the stiffness had migrated to the neck and head. I did not feel any headache, but I could feel there was wind in my head that I couldn't get rid of. I was very uncomfortable.

To overcome this, I applied oilment most of the days. I also did ask Papa-M to give me a massage on my shoulders. He even suggested me to go to the hospital and have a body and head scan....

So, on Monday, I took a day off from the office. Reason was to go to Bb-G's primary school and settle her registration. It was a quick procedure and everything  was settlled by 10am. Then I went to the bank. In the bank while I was waiting for my turn, I saw a Chinese Tuina centre nearby. Hence I decided to get some therapy after I had completed my bank transaction.

I walked into the shop, and told the person-in-charge (lady boss) what was my problem. She talked to her sifu and told her I need 30mins foot reflexology, 15mins head treatment and 45mins body tuina. The lady sifu looked very thin, with decent face. I enjoyed the foot reflexology. Then I  moved on to a bed for my tuina session.

When she touched my back and shoulder, she said my muscles were hard and my nerves were tight. So she started "tuina" me. It was very very painful. and very different from the normal Swiss body massage or Thai body massage that I usually do.

The most painful part was when she  tuina at my neck. The pain was so excruciating and the pain reached to the top of my head. Then, she started to pour some oil on my body and massage. She noticed my body was very heaty, and suggested to do cupping for me. I never tried cupping before, so I agreed. Oh my god, it was very painful too.

After 90mins of treatment, it was finally over. Surprisingly my head and body was relaxed. However the skin was still in pain due to the abrasion.

Today is Wednesday, which is 2 days after my tuina+cupping. I really can feel that my back, shoulders and head no longer stressed and stiffed. However, I look like a ladybird still....I wonder when can these marks fade

Japanese Fine Dining 8 Course Meal

Last night colgs and me had a dinner with boss and our overseas guests from Switzerland. Again, we had the meal at our own Japanese restaurant, Xenri.

1st dish - Noodle with shrimp, decorated with black truffle and caviar. Very appetizing. The noodle is soft yet springy, strongly flavoured by the Chef's own oil concoction and seasoning.

2nd dish - Fish dish but I cannot remember what fish is that. It was furnished with organic green apple sauce...a combination of the salty taste from the fish and the sweet sourish from the apple really gave a kick

3rd dish - The soup. The broth was cooked with Japanese giant oyster and pepper. Very nice. I didnt eat the oyster but finished the whole bowl of soup.

4th dish - King crab with burdock. Wow is the word I can describe. The king crab tasted heavenly and very fresh, and especially when the chef had made his own secret recipe sauce to go with the seafood.

5th dish - Tuna collar. This was my second time having this dish. It does not taste like fish, but more like eating stew beef. The tuna was braised long enough until each bite from the fish was strongly flavourful. Decorated with  chesnut and some beans which tasted equally good.

6th dish - This was THE MAIN DISH...oh my.....I was so full after having 5th dishes in a row, and I thought the tuna collar was the main dish. Anyway, this one was very delicious too. The grilled cod fish with asparagus and mushroom. Oh my oh my oh my.....so yummy

7th dish - The dessert. Miso cheesecake with syrup cherries and strawberries. Interesting taste by mixing miso to the cheese. Anyway, taste creative  and not too bad...

By the way, want to know who we had dinner with? A prince, all the way from Switzerland. He is not the Swiss Prince, but he is carrying the royalty blood. (macam tengku lar). I curi-curi snapped his photo with my handphone. The one in white is the Prince

This Week Dinner

During the weekend, I prepared this week dinner. Let's see the menu....

First I stirfried brocolli, cauliflower and mushroom. Seasoned them well. Then put aside.

Then, I cooked premarinated fish fillets.

Then I simply tossed in the washed rice and add a bit of salt

Sidetrack sikit - I just bought Ecolon wok from Cosway and I like it so much, it is big enough and easy to wash

Next, put the vegs, the fish and the rice into tiffin can. I fine-tuned one portion a bit by adding bak kua...

Next, i pan fried a piece of salmon, then shredded into tiny pieces

I also prepared 2 portion of these, spinach with mix beans and tomato. Stirfried in the wok with some seasoning.

Mix salmon flakes and the vegs together. Then added in the rice in the tiffin can.

Dinner of the week. I used 2 different types of rice, one is the normal grains, another one is the Japanese rice.

Washing

Eversince I told Bb-G to be independant, she really becomes "INDEPENDANT"
Maybe due to my nagging mostly everymorning, she started to behave more obediently and do things on her own. She wears her own socks and shoes. She eats her vitamins  without any complain. After drinking  her water she will bring her cup to the kitchen basin. I feel so glad.

2 days ago when Papa-M was unable to pick her back from school, I picked her instead. And we went back home to prepare the dinner. Both of us enjoyed our meal and after the dinner, she told me she wanted to wash her bowl and plate.

Bb-G: Mummy, later I wash the plate ar....you no need to wash for me...
Me: Huh really?
Bb-G: Yes la,  I can do it on my own....
Me: ok, then how about my plate?
Bb-G: you wash lar...you eat finish already then you wash lar....

KANASAI ...

Indeed, she finished her dinner before me, and very spontaneously took all her utensils (bowl, spoon, forks, saucer) to the kitchen basin. Next she brought  her mini chair to the kitchen and started to wash. I was totally in disbelieve. I quietly snapped her photo from the dining room

I went to the kitchen and checked how she washed. Zut zut zut.....not bad at all,  she mananged to get the sponge, squeeze out the detergent, turn on the water tap and wash like an adult.

I said this to her while she was doing her washing

Me: Wah...you need my help or not?
Bb-G: No need, I can do it....
Me: Who teach you how to wash?
Bb-G:  In school after I cook, I wash on my own...
Me: (caught in surprise)..OH! you wash in the school after the cooking class? teacher teach how to wash is it?
Bb-G: yes....
Me: wah.....you so clever.....you help me wash my plate can or not?
Bb-G: (smiling away konon konon kena puji)  oklar...i wash for you lar...

Hahah...I am more clever than her huh....

Anyhow, I am pleased the school do teach the children to be independant...and from this, I earn myself a little maid at home   (BIG BIG GRIN ^_^ )

Dinner

Early of the year my plan was to wake up early at 6am to prepare dinner. So  when Papa-M picks Bb-G back from the daycare, he can heat up the food and enjoy their homecook dinner. Well, I did, but only for ONE TIME, because I hardly wake up at 6 o'clock....
Then for the past 1.5 months, both of them settled their dinner outside before coming back home. Most of the time they would eat Teochew porridge, chicken rice, Hokkien mi, chicken kuehtiau soup and sometimes when I picked Bb-G, we ate pasta, nasi lemak, sushi, udon...

Until last week, Papa-M declared he "surrender" to the outside food. And most of the time he does not know where to bring BB-G for dinner. I really kesian them so much, so I made up my mind and decided to prepare dinner for them AGAIN...

Instead of waking up early to cook, I plan to prepare "a-week-dinner" on Sunday, and then freeze them. To do so, I try to minimize many types of dishes since my freezer has limited space. Next, I also need to consider Papa-M's capability to heat up the dishes, nothing complicated for him, moreover after coming back from work, I believe he will appreciate a quick and easy method to lay down the dinner for us on the dining table.^_*

Something simple, something fast, something easy, something nice. Something simple for me to plan, something fast for him to prepare, something easy for me to cook, and something nice for us to eat...hahahah

So, one pot rice and soup are in the menu . I managed to cook pumpkin rice with mushroom and pork, and  french bean rice with pork last Sunday. One pot rice is easy to  prepare, just make twist with some other vegs or meat.  What I did was to fry the veg and meat until cook, then mixed with washed uncooked rice. Sprinkle a bit of salt and then freeze the rice. Each morning before I leave the house, I just bring out the rice from the freezer and let it thaw in the fridge compartment. Papa-M only needs to transfer the rice into the rice cooker, add water and let it cook.

For soup, either I use the Thermal Magic Pot, which dump all ingredients into the pot, cook under fire until boil and then transfer it back to the thermal cast. The soup would be ready by evening when they reach home.

Or.. I also make simple broth by heating up some anchovies with water. Then freeze the soup. Same thing, thaw before i leave the house, and Papa-M reheat the soup and put the prepared ingredients into the soup once boil.

And this is my communication with Papa-M, simple instructions and photos.

Sigh.....

Eversince Bb-G changed to a new school early of this year, my morning routine has changed too..
I wake up at 6.30am  > fill up water into her school bottle > josstick pray on the altar > take shower and that is already  7am.

Next, make milk for Bb-G and get her to drink > I go back to my room for facecare routine to prepare for work > then need to wake the little girl  up again becos she doze-off after her milk > brush her teeth > wipe her body > change her uniform > tie her hair > give Bb-G water and vitamins > I go into my room  to change my working suit , and that is already 7.30 am.

Everytime I tell Bb-G to wear her own socks and shoes and wait for me while I am wearing my clothes, but she just ignores and will  wait for me to serve her like a queen(which means help her to wear socks+shoes lar).

Besides that, everymorning Bb-G is so demanding, asking for this , asking for that, and keep saying, "mummy, i wan this.....mummy i wan tat.....mummy, i don wan this....mummy i don wan tat......" then start to throw some princess tantrum!

This reaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy make me so "pek cek".  Everymorning I have so much to do, and I have to rush out by 7.30am, since her school starts at 8am. It takes about 25mins+ to reach her school.

(oh well, for me punctuallity is always important especially to school, office, appointments, meetings)

So yesterday morning, I lectured her "kao kao  and non stop" in the car on my way sending her to the school. I told her this:

"Eh, u know or not, when I was a little girl like you, your popoh never wear socks for me, your popoh never wear shoes for me....I am so independant. Your popoh only make me breakfast and I do everything on my own. YOu know or not, everymorning mummy is so busy, and you stil want to make noise and yi-yi-ak-ak., I told you to wake up, you stil want to laze on your bed, i ask you to brush your teeth and you slowly slowly brush, i ask you to wear your socks and you lepak on my bed, i ask you to eat your vitamins, and you play them on your hands, i tie your hair then you complain you don want this rubberband, don wan tat rubberband..... I ask you ar, in the school and  daycare , teacher help you to do everything is it? "

And I never expect she replied me this ..

"No, i do everything on my own. I have to put my shower bag at the cabinet, then i have to go up to the class. Then after class i have to take the shower bag to the bathroom and queue with my friends and wait for kakak to bathe us. Then, after that I ownself wear baju. then walk into the Daisy class and drink nen nen, then teacher say go to sleep, and I go with  my friends to the room and sleep. I take my own blanket and pillow to the blue colour bed. When teacher ask us to wake up, I never laze on the bed, I quickly wake up, because I don want my friends to see me laze on the bed. Then I have to fold my blanket and put back into my sleeping bag and keep lor. Then I go to the toilet on my own. Then I go down to the canteen and teacher Mandy give us bun to eat. I always eat finish wan... Then when my water no more already, I go to the kitchen and fill up my bottle. You see I do everything on my own ma...."

STUNT! I thought I can talk non-stop to lecture her, mana tau she can talk non-stop too to shut me up!

Anyway, this morning she still threw some princess temper demanding a strawberry Vit C, instead of the orange Vit C I gave her. I ignored and told her to settle her own shoes+socks. Well, at least she did ....

Haiz.....I think only working mother with going school kids will understand well what I am going through

Well, this morning when I was checking on FB, I saw this, and I think, that is very very true
