A Red Korean Hanbok

(Hi PY, if you are reading this, hope this blog post is not too late…)

Last year when my Seremban friend gave a blue dress to Bb-G for her 2 year-old birthday, and eversince Bb-G did the Korean bow in the dress, I had determined to get her a real Korean Hanbok. I searched many places for it, but to no avail. Main reason – the size was not suitable.
Then, I decided to write to PY , and asked if she knows how to sew a Korean Hanbok. We emailed each other and finally, a nice little Hanbok was sent to me just right before the Chinese New Year.

I had intended to let Bb-G wear the hanbok during CNY, but she had some minor skin allergy during that time. Since she was having some red rashes and itched at certain parts of the body, I just dropped off the idea.

Bb-G with her red Korean Hanbok. I told PY I like a red dress and she managed to get me a nice red fabric.

Again, in her Korean bow

Bb-G insisted to take a photo with her dragon, because she said her dragon also wear a red dress like her…. hahahah!

I shall find one nice function and let Bb-G wear her Hanbok .

Thanks again PY, for this nice red dress.

My Saturday...

Last Saturday was an eventful one…

Woke up, prepared breakfast for sister, then bathed Bb-G, took my shower and got ready to attend a lunch wedding function of a family friend’s son. The journey to the Chinese restaurant almost took us one hour , due to traffic jam. Once we reached the restaurant, we still had to wait for about 45 mins before the dishes were served. The food was good anyway…
Function ended, and we reached home almost close to 5pm. Bb-G was not sleepy at all, and she excitedly wanted to swim!

So, by late evening, when the pool was still empty, I brought Bb-G to swim. This round, I let her swim in the adults’ pool. She was well equipped with the swimming vest too. Sister helped to take our photos since Papa-M was not free to join us.

Bb-G, 100% ready , pretending to swim on the “floor”

Before the swimming session…we said cheeeeeeese!

She preferred to swim facing up, and kept telling me “mummy, lie down, lie down”… and happily kicking her legs.

After a while, I was tired and I just dumped her back to the kids’ pool.

At night, due to the wedding lunch, I was not hungry, but sister who didn’t go for the lunch needs her dinner. So I suggested to bake her something nice. Oh yah… eversince i took out my table top oven which was cold storage for years in the cabinet, I just enjoy making food with the oven. It is so easy to oven cook, and mess free most of the time. Importantly I do not need to do lots of washing because I always lay a piece of aluminum foil on the baking tray, once the food was done, I just throw away the foil and never even bother to wash the tray! Heheeheh

This was what I baked for sister – baked egg! I added some tuna flakes, mixed vege, tomatoes, cheese, milk and some salt and pepper.

Sister’s reaction… I supposed she liked the taste.

My cooking mood suddenly lifted up after baking the egg, hence I suggested to make pop corns! This round, instead of using a normal soup making pot, I used my frying wok instead. I also spread a layer of aluminum foil on the wok (want to prevent chao ta), heat it up, threw in some butter, added in the pop corn kernels. Pop pop pop pop pop…. Wah… once I opened the wok lid, the pop corns were ready and they looked nicer compare to my previous experience.

But guess what……sister said she was too full, she ate a little. Papa-M took some then left to his night golf session. Then, I invited my brother and his wife over, both of them took maybe less than 10 corns and went back home (they came to my house after a heavy dinner). So 90% of the pop corns went into my tummy overnight…. I munched away while watching the latest Hong Kong series – The Hipocratic Crush.

Drumstick

Few days ago (I think it was Tuesday), I saw the fridge left one chicken drumstick when I came back home from work. So, I marinated it with a mixture of black pepper, salt, garlic, onion and turmeric. Spreaded abit of butter on the drumstick and baked for 30mins. Once I came out from the shower, the whole house was fragrant with the butter+blackpepper chicken smell. Since the nice smell really triggered my appetite, hence I cooked myself a bowl of kueh teow soup too, at least Bb-g could share with me.

Before I even started my dinner, Papa-M reached home. I didn’t know that he would be home earlier, and he had not eaten his dinner too. So I offered to share my food with him, and also let him try my drumstick. Oh… he said it tasted very good! And he ateeeeeeeeee until almost finish. Bb-G liked it too. For me, I only had a single bite! Both father and daughter also finished 85% of my kueh teow soup. And at night, I slept in a hungry tummy. :(

Since I couldn’t have enough of the chicken, and thought of the way Papa-M walloped my drumstick, I called him yesterday and asked if he would be back for dinner. As his answer was a NO, so I baked another drumstick for myself for yesterday dinner. Besides the drumstick, I also baked 2 pcs of chapatti (the frozen type).

The one with cheese for Bb-G, and for myself, I spreaded some parsley, garlic powder and butter.

A plate of vege+fruit salad was prepared too.

Indeed, the drumstick really tasted good. I think is the quality of the black pepper and butter I used. Wanted to have the whole chicken for myself, I only gave Bb-G the cheese chapatti and some grapes..with a cup of Ribena to replace the nice meat.. heheheh…

My chapati & drumstick

This morning I also baked 2 pcs of drumsticks and let my colgs to try. Hope they will like it!

Outdoor Activities

It has been a long time since I last brought Bb-G to the playground, mostly due to the change in her noon nap time. For the past many months, she has been sleeping as late as 4-6pm, or sometimes she slept at 5-7pm. By the time she woke up, it would be too late for us to have some activities in the playground. I always think that outdoor activities are good for toddlers. Each time when Bb-G sees the playground she will definitely tell me to bring her there. So on last Saturday, once she woke up and finished her milk , I said “Let’s go to the playground !! ”. She was extremely excited.

Kids grow real fast. Compare to last time, she has grown taller now.

We were at the playground for almost half an hour, and I told her it was time to go home. She refused and showed me THIS SULKY FACE!

Then, she even pitifully requested me to allow her swim, "mummy, swim pleaseeee" .
Not wanting to disappoint her , I agreed. She eagerly joined some neighbours’ kids and played with their toys!

I am hoping BB-G can grow up faster, so that next time she can join me in the adults' pool, and after swimming, we can do sauna together-gether... ....hmmmmmm.....what a wonderful feeling..... ^_^

Our Pacifier

I was thinking should I write this here, but after much thoughts, maybe I should, at least when Bb-G reads this post, she knows what has she done for the parents...

Yesterday night Papa-M and me couldn't see eye to eye one one particular topic. He did not agree my opinion and I didn't agree on his too. Ended up we raised voices and it turned up to be an arguement. I was so angry. As the situation then was quite tense, I made a bottle of milk for Bb-G and both Bb-G and me went into her bedroom. While she was drinking her milk, I sat at the corner of the bed, from anger I became upset, hence I sobbed very quietly. Bb-G who finished her milk saw my tears, she quickly ran towards me, telling me, "mummy, don cry, what happen, don't cry..." and she spontaneously gave me a hug and used her shirt to wipe my tears. Then, she gave me her soft toys, gave me her books and gave me her favourite bolster, telling me to stop crying. This made me burst into more tears and I went WA WAA WAA WAAAAAA like a baby!

She panicked. She hugged me even more tightly and told me that she wanted to tell her father about me crying, and wanted to bring her father to her room. Upon hearing this, I quickly stopped crying and wiped my tears. It was too late, she had already ran out from her room to approach Papa-M who was in the living room. I immediately took out her milk bottle and went to the kitchen. I heard Bb-G said "papa, mummmy cry, go sayang mummy" . I think this had dissolved Papa-M's anger too (by then Bb-G had pulled him out from the couch and led him to the kitchen. Well.... Papa-M approoached me with his softer tone , wanted to reconcile. My anger/sadness faded away too. Bb-G even took Papa-M's finger and my finger and joined them together...telling us to hold our hands.

I am not sure if Bb-G really knew what was going on, but she definetly made an effort to calm us down. Thank you, my little girl cum "2.5 year-old LOVE ADVISOR"

Someone Is Here

I received an sms from someone on the 9th (last Thursday), this person said want to visit me on Sunday (yesterday). I told this person - OK. But this person never tell me what time to arrive.
So on Sunday, this person also never sms or called me too. I have been waiting for this person's arrival eversince I woke up at 8am. At about 4pm, my nanny's daughter aka SL called and said, she would be coming over to my place.
Ding Dong! I opened my house wooden door, and this person who wanted to visit me came with SL.

My hometown childhood friend aka my 2 years ex-housemate,PL. She came with the well-known hometown Family Cake - chocolate flavour

Her visit was a short one. Both SL and me proposed to bring her for the famous Yong Taufu near my house, but she couldn't eat with us, since she had a prior dinner engagement with her cousin sister. Having stayed with her before, and having to know her "hobby", i.e, "inspecting the house" , I had my part time maids cleaned the house thoroughly on Saturday, and I also sprayed air freshener in the toilets. True enough, the first thing when she stepped into the house was to look-see each corner of the house, walking from one room to another, even toilet she was interested to see. HAHAHHAHAH, PL, see I know you so well !
Then we also chit chat while she glanced through my wedding photo albums. Surprisingly, she knew my life updates, and could spontaneously speak to me on my inlaws' whereabout! PL had read my blog (she did her homework) before she came to my house. Good job yah!! HAHAHA..

Before she left, we took some photos for the album

PL with her cake, and Bb-G was holding a cup of lychee milk pudding made by nanny.

I set the smart shutter function, and quickly ran in between them to have my photo taken too. All of us showed our TEETH!

PL, this round I didn't manage to prepare you any snacks /food, 3 months later when you come again, please let me know your plan/time, I can prepare "8 dishes" like what I prepared for my inlaws to you hahahaahh!!

Feminine ??

Was downloading some photos from Papa-M's camera and "terkejut" when I saw these few photos.

Papa-M, are you hinting that your daughter is too samseng, therefore trying to make her to sit gently like a LADY ?
