3113
3113, nice number or not? Yeh , that is my birthday this year - 3rd Jan 2013.
During the lunch break, a very close colleague drove me to Mid Valley, she bought me a Japanese lunch, then followed by a nice dessert.
My salmon don
My birthday cake - pavlova. Watched a few times from the TV how a pavlova was made but had never tried before. I like the crispy but yet soft texure of this dessert.
At night, initially Papa-M and me planned to go for a dinner in Tony Roma's, since I 've got a birthday voucher from the restaurant. But then we changed our mind and had a mini celebration at home. We did steamboat & bbq. Since it is a working day, I bought all the ready to cook ingredients from a grocery shop nearby the house.
Pork - one pack marinated, one pack was the sukiyaki (non marinated)
Taiwan sausages (spicy flavour) and cheese sausage
Eggs. I love to eat century egg!
Some varieties of "balls" and a small portion of shell seafood to make the steamboat broth
Vegs, mushroom and tofu
Noodles
My birthday cake, courtesy by Papa-M. Green tea flavour, and indeed tasted very GREEN TEA taste!
My daughter manja with me
2 cheeky fellows beside me
The only invited guest - my brother
Happy Birthday to my myself again! I wish all the people around me be happy, be healthy, be lucky, be wealthy! Good luck 2013!!!

Novel Again
I remember I blogged before my favourite author - Sidney Sheldon. I have all his books....
Yesterday, a public holiday, at night, after putting Bb-G to her bed, I went back to my room. I had no mood for TV/DVD. So I went to my book shelf and saw this book that I bought many many months ago. I wonder why I never read it when I first bought it.
Hence, I started to read.....and read.....and read.....OMG! I found my new love, Tilly Bagshawe.
Her way of writing, her way of plotting, her way of story telling, so much similar to Sidney.
I read until it was midnight, and I still wouldn't want to put it down and go to sleep. Each page just make me wanting more. It was at the point when my eyes 'sudah begitu dasyat juling " , then, I kept the book and off to sleep.
I regret for not bringing the novel to the office today....kekekeek.....at least I can read during lunch break.....
I am now reading this
I believe I am going to the bookstore more often to scout for her books. Sometimes, I still prefer to read from a real book compare to e-book.....

Official Day
Today is the official day Bb-G goes to the kindy. This week is the orientation week, therefore, she can go back to nanny's place at 10.30am.
Happy Schooling , Bb-G!

2013
This is my first post in 2013.
Papa-M, Bb-G , together with me went for a steamboat+bbq 2012 farewell gathering at a friend's place. Again, we had lots of food and wine. We came back home quite late, roughly at 2.40am, slept almost immediately once taken our shower. I woke up at 10am the next day, to welcome a fine day of 1st Jan 2013 ^_*
Had a good rest at home yesterday, didn't really do much, except I made crepe for the 1st time for Bb-G as tea time. I never know that she loved the texture of the crepe so much, maybe the sheet was thinner, compare to the pancake. Yup, she never like to eat pancake.
Actually, I have no idea how to make the crepe skin, but agak agak lar...., it should have flour and egg in the mixture. If jadi, then makanlar, if tak jadi, never mind lar.
So, I took out a portion of wheat flour, then added a bit of tapioco flour , an egg and mixed all with water. My measurement was based on my instinct. Oh ya, I added a pinch of salt too. The batter should not be too liquid, or too thin.
Heat up my pan, then poured the batter in a thin layer. Let it cook slowly under low fire.
Flipped to another side. Done. Taste quite nice, soft and a bit saltish.
There was some banana at home, so i sauted the banana with some nutella spread.

Wrapped and rolled the banana with the crepe skin

Done

Guess what, Bb-G just ate the crepe skin, ignoring all the banana... I made 3 pcs of crepe, she finished 2 pcs. As for the banana, that was too much, most ended up in the rubbish bin...sigh... So next time, I shall only make her the crepe skin... ^_*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I bought a noodle maker not long ago. I bought it because Bb-G's principal told me that she loves to eat pan mi in the school during morning break. The noodle should not be too broad, she likes thin type of noodle.
I have actually notice Bb-G's eating habit - she does not like hard and thick texture.
Eg., she likes to eat vermicelli (mi fen), instead of normal mee or keuh tiau.
She likes to eat noodle pan mi, would not eat much if she eats mi hun kueh hand pull type.
She does not like pancake (thick) , but enjoy eating crepe (thin)
Since I often make mi hun kueh at home, I can now roll the dough into fine noodle for Bb-G
The noodle maker. Used it last week for the 1st time.
She was "helping" me to make the dough...
It was not easy at all, the noodle stick together. I tried many times but not succeed, I lost my patience and almost wanted to give up!
Before I really "throw my temper" on the noodle maker, I tried to spread as much flour as possible to the dough before I rolled them into noodle. Finally, it worked! Ha ha Ha!
But then, the whole place was so messy....
Bb-G: Wait wait wait...I take photo first ....
The noodle was a bit too thick though, next time, I shall try the other thinner version of the mould cutter.
I simply boiled the noodle until cook, and the ate with minced pork + its gravy. (I braised the pork in chicken stock, it turned up very flavourful, oh yah, I also marinated the minced pork with some salted fish. )
My plan is to make this like Hakka Mi.
Glad this girl liked it.
Happening
I guess putting on weight during the year end festive season is unavoidable....
So many "makan" parties I've had had recently, and when I put myself at the weighing machine this morning, I've gained 2kgs!!! Gosh gosh gosh......gemuk...gemuk...gemuk...
Makan Part 1- Date: 21/12/12, Friday
Papa-M's side of family gathering at his uncle's house in Seremban. Few families gathered together, well, sempena Winter Solstice (or sempana Hari Khiamat, kakaaka) . We had barbeque at night. Before the dinner, I took egg tart, made by Papa-M's youngest aunt.
Makan Part 2 - Date: 22/12/12, Saturday
Still in Seremban. Breakfast at home, inlaws packed famous hawker food from Seremban market. I had the famous Hakka Mi, and wow that was nice. Simple combination of Hakka noodle plus minced pork gave a very Ummph taste!
Lunch at home too. Besides the homecooked plain rice and some stirfried green vegs, our main protein came from roast chicken+duck, plus fried chicken, all packed from outside.
Makan Part 3 - Date: 23/12/12, Sunday
Back in my own house. My parents came from South. Mom had prepared some yam rice, stewed pork, stirfry mixed vegs , dark soysauce chicken and a pumpkin dish for lunch.
At night, my parents-in-law belanja my parents for dinner. So we ate a Chinese restaurant, we had curry fish head and steam ginger fish as the main dishes, came well with other side dishes like pork, soup, vegs and beancurd.
Makan Part 4 - Date: 24/12/12, Monday
Breakfast with my parents and inlaws. We had hawker food. Quite a heavy meal though...
Had some refreshment in Sunway Pyramid with parents, yogurt ice-cream, fish balls, guiling gao, herbal tea. Back home to have our tea break. we made tuna mayo tortilla wraps. Parents had their coffee, whereas sister, Bb-G and me had the tortillas with VITAGEN, haha!
Dinner, mom was the chef, and she cooked us tomato sauce fish, corn soup, vegs and cilipadi stirfied chicken.
On that day, it was BbG's first time using chopsticks on her own too
After dinner, we had red wine, peanuts, cookies and cheese. It was the X'mas eve mini home party!
This little fella very much wanted to use the wine glass. She had apple flavour vitagen.
Makan Part 5 - Date 25/4/2012, Tuesday
Nothing much special happened in the day time. Mom prepared brunch for us, before she went back home in the South in late noon. Our breakfast + lunch at 11am. So nice ya, food was served when we woke up. Main dishes - sweet sour fish and chicken rendang
At night, Papa-M, Bb-G and me attended a X'mas potluck party at our friend's house. I brought over a pot of 4 litres mushroom soup, catered for roughly 20 over people. So glad the soup was very welcoming and I received so many thumb-ups ^_*
We had all these at the party - mushroom soup, roast chicken, roast pork, salads, fried dumplings, fried fish cake fuchuk, cakes, ginger cookies, pasta,garlic breads, soft drink for the kids, and of course wine and liquour for the adults. I came back home with very full tummy and "mabuk" hahaha...How I wish today no need to work...
Tell me please, how NOT to get FAT with all this makan thingy happened in a straight row?????
Anyway, Merry X'mas 2012 ! One more party to come in the new year eve.... it is all about drink, food and fun....!
Mirror
I think it is a nature, a nature of every young girl to look at herself at the mirror, to doll herself in front of the mirror........
Lately, due to the kindy holiday camp, Bb-G wakes up early in the morning. Before I can even fully settle myself, she is already on the standby mode, awaiting for me to settle her hair. Worse still, she likes to cramp and squeeze with me when I am at the dressing table applying face cream and makeover. She will follow whatever I do, sometimes it is so unbearable because I am rushing for time, and she is so sibuk , kacau here and kacau there.....
Not only in the morning, each time when I am at the dressing table, she is definitely there to steal half the size of the mirror.
To make my life easier and to keep her away from me during the "busy moirning time" , I decided to give her my accessory mirror box, a present from Vietnam. At least she can have her own "Vain" time without disturbing me at the moment...
The box is now full of her hair accessories. She loves to "kiap" her front fringe with this yellow hair clips. Yoooooh....see until the mirror will pecah lar, Bb-G!
I wonder how long can she get herself occupied with this mini mirror box....Hmmm....I think, soon, I am going to get her dressing table
