Expression

When Bb-G eat full full, drink full full and play full full, her mood would be extremely good. If we ask her to do things, she is most happily to obey. And during this time, Papa-M will make Bb-G his Canon supermodel , and she could be very sporting in front of the camera too.

The cameraman said : How you act cute? Model did this…

The cameraman said : How you smile? Model did this….

The cameraman said : How you laugh? Model did this….(now I realised she has sharp gigi taring)

The cameraman said: How you do exercise ? Model did this….

The cameraman said: How you act blurrr? Model did this….

Don't Waste

What will I do when I have some leftovers in the fridge?
Past weekend inlaws came to visit us. MIL cooked for the family on Sunday night. One of the dishes was the seafood pot , which she braised chicken with sea cucumber and fish maw. Since the portion was quite large and we couldn’t finish it, MIL kept the leftover in the fridge. Besides, there was some white rice left too.

So yesterday night I just heated up the seafood pot and made myself an egg fried rice.

Somehow, I felt that such braised dish would be tastier if left overnight. The chicken became so soft that no chews were required.

Not wanting to waste the remaining leftover white rice, and with whatever resources I could get in the kitchen, I made a pot of congee with potato, carrot, onion, some fish slices, ginger and pork broth.
Boiled everything on the stove , transferred it into the thermal pot and let it cooked overnight. And this morning I had this for my breakfast.

Prepared one portion for Papa-M to bring over to his office too, and I also kept some for my lunch today.

During previous years, I usually throw away leftover food, thinking that it may not be fresh and unhealthy for consumption. However, nowadays everything(food, raw material, oil, etc..) is so pricy, and moreover when I think of those poor people who can’t get enough food for survival, I will tell myself to cherish whatever food given to me.

I Feel Like Flying

2 weeks ago, Bb-G was down with tonsillitis, then came with fever and cough. I took leave and babycare her at home. Because she was not feeling good, and moreover cough and vomit with fever came ferociously at night, I didn’t sleep well during that week too. Due to this, my body was aching, tight and sore especially my neck, shoulder, my waist and back. My head was heavy too.
All I think was A MASASGE. My colg, whose children also happened to sick on that week had the same body ache as me. Both of us really urgently in need for a thorough body massage, and thus we went to Reborn Reflexology. I never been there before, and my ever first time massaged by a Chinese (from China). We took the “2 Happy Hours” package for RM98. We could either choose to have body massage for 2 hours, or foot massage for 2 hours, or one hour foot and one hour body. So we had our foot and body massage for 2 hours.

Foot reflexology was a good one, very comfortable and relaxing, I even slept on the couch. Then, the 2nd hour was the body massage. Oh my god, my masseur used her “bull energy” on my body. It was totally very different from the normal Thai massage I had before. The Chinese used “Tui Na” style. It came with pain and at one moment I felt I couldn’t breathe because my tummy was pressed tightly to the bed, and the Chinese masseur sort of like sitting on my back !
After one hour of kneading, rolling, pulling, rubbing, pressing, the whole process was done. Pheew…. and I was relieved. When I reached home, my back was in pain, I hardly slept, some little movement on the bed made me in agony. But after the second day, my body started to feel relaxed, loose, light and” I feel I can fly”! And this good feeling lingers until now, yes even after 2 weeks, I can still feel my body very easy and flexible. And I have good sleep too.

This “Tui Na” style really fantastic I should say. No doubt the process was painful, but I can enjoy the after effect for so long. I will definitely go back to Reborn again.

Territory

I have a "special territory" in the house where Papa-M knows, and thus he seldom fights this "territory" from me. But now, I've lost my territory to a small young girl, and she has fully become the queen of this territory

My territory has been snatched away. I no longer can sit on my favourite lazy couch ...sob sob sob
The new master KIAO KA somemore, can't believe it man!

Mushroom Bread

When I started my relationship with Papa-M, he (my boyfriend then) told me he is not particular with food. He practically eats everything. And this had actually made me like him more, because I don't like my boyfriend (partner) to ve choosy with food.
But then, his true colour began to show up, he never like to eat mushroom, and he does not like to eat bread too. I just don't understand how could he tell me he eats everything! I kena conned.

For me, I just enjoy eating bread, and I also love mushrooms! When Bb-G starts to eat solid food, I introduced bread to her. To my shock, she dislikes bread just like her father. Even bun, bao also she doesn't like. And these are all my favourites.

When I cook at home, I will remind myself try not to add mushroom, because Papa-M dislikes. And if I add a little bit of mushrooms, he will nag at me. Arrggh!
Even when my mom make chinese rice dumpling (bak chang), mom will remember not to add any mushroom for him too, see he was spoilt.

One day I let Bb-G try some mushroom. To my surprise she ate all of them and asked for more. Oh yeh, Bb-G has my blood, she loves mushroom! So everynow and then, when I cook, I will add mushroom. When Papa-M nagged, I told him his daughter wants to eat, and this shuts him up. HAHAHA

Last weekend I saw this Eryngii mushroom in the supermarket. I quickly grabbed one pack. So yesterday night, i pan fried the mushroom with oyster sauce, and sandwiched between 2 pcs of white bread. A bull eye egg was added too.

I also prepared a small portion for Bb-G. She liked it so much, and kept asking for more. Oh yeh, thanks to Massimo, Bb-G started to eat bread. She eats both Masimo wholemeal and white loaf. Other bread brands, she rejects. Wah, very yim jim hor?

But the happiest thing that I felt last night was not the bread nor mushroom,it was the milk. Yes, immediately after taking her sandwich, she asked for milk and completely finished the whole bottle. Such case is so rare.

Music

My parents came over the weekend, a short trip just to visit us - the children and granddaughter. Mom only called me on Saturday noon, it was an impromptu decision to make this trip. They reached my place about 7pm, and by then, the dinner was ready. Because of Mom’s short notice, I just make-do with whatever I could find from the fridge. I cooked them a plate of strifry brinjal and okra with sambal, braised chicken drumstick with mushroom, pan fried an omelet with crab filament, steamed a box of white tofu with minced pork, and completed the meal with a pot of black fungus pork rib soup. Dad thought I tah pao back all the food (GERAMNYA !)

Sometimes I just enjoy cooking and eating at home, it is more relaxing and carefree, no doubt we still need to do the washing. As usual, after dinner, mom would go over my brother’s house to help him “spring clean”. Whereas dad would always stay at my house watching tv or take short nap, or play with Bb-G.

Papa-M bought a keyboard for Bb-G's birthday. Usually when I’ve got the mood, I shall play the keyboard, then Bb-G will sing. But on the Saturday night, Bb-G dragged her ah-gong to play along with her, she said “gonggong, come play organ!”

This round dad played the keyboard, Bb-G sang “baby-ly” on the microphone.

She sang “ke ren lai, kan papa….”, then “are you sleeping , brother john, “ next she sang “I love you, you love me, we are happy family…”
As usual, she yelled on the microphone, but this made my dad laughed and enjoyed a lot!

Bb-G sang with ah gong

With ah gong around, Bb-G smiled until can see teeth cannot see eyes , ha! ha! ha!

Anyway, being a Yamaha student myself, I’ve actually planned to enroll Bb-g into a music class when she gets a bit older. I could still remember my performance on the stage playing a song with Electone Organ for my primary school children’s day. Then, I also had many opportunities to perform in some kindergartens graduation day, in the shopping centres help to promote Yamaha Music School, then my last stage show was for my hometown Rotary Club Gala Dinner. How I wish I can see Bb-G perform on the stage too. But then again, I will respect her , just like how my dad respected me when he wanted to send me for a music school. His intention was to let me learn piano, but I have interest in learning organ.
So, if Bb-G prefers other musical instrument besides the organ, I will respect her too. But I hope she won’t reject music , and pray that she inherits some musical genes just like me, who get the genes from my dad.

Masquerade

Last Friday I attended the annual CTFA dinner. (CTFA= The Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association of Malaysia).

This year the theme is Masquerade. I have a kind colg who had helped me to buy a nice golden cover-up.

Every year as usual, we always reached the event place earlier than the rest of diners, and as usual, we would go to the toilet and take photos.

Compare to previous years, this year event was a bit dull, not much entertainment. Food was not too good too. We had the hotel 8 course Chinese meal. My colg even made a joke when the fish was served. She said the fish was dead for 100 years beofer it was cooked. In aother word - NOT FRESH. And because of this, I didnt eat the fish..
