Everytime when we go to Ipoh, I will never choose to stay in a hotel. Because I want to stay in a bungalow!!

Went to Ipoh during the weekend to attend a church wedding of Papa-M’s childhood friend. As usual, Papa-M had in prior booked some nice rooms from his friend who has quite some numbers of houses which are renovated for rental. I shared a room with sister and Bb-G. Papa-M slept with his boyfriend who came back from Australia for the wedding. This trip we managed to rent the rooms in the huge and new bungalow. Heard that the owner makes lots of money by renting out his houses and managed to buy a plot of land and build his own bungalow!
The room that was given to me has a queen size bed and a single bed. All the furniture provided are mostly from Ikea. Each room completed with LCD TV 42” with Astro service.

Sister slept with Bb-G on the queen size bed, the other single bed is placed in another side of the room.

The washroom is clean.
No bath tub, so Bb-G bathed in a pail

But one thing I felt not user- friendly in the room was the towel hanging rack, It was hung very high on the wall. I had to jump and throw my towel. At least the owner should put a mini ladder stool for the guests.

What’s more, we are free to use the kitchen to cook too, the lady owner has the rice cooker, build-in oven, cabinets full of kitchen utensils, filter water dispenser (both warm and hot) which is very convenient for me to make Bb-G’s milk and cereal. An iron and the board are placed in one corner of the living hall for sharing.
I heard from Papa-M that all the houses of this owner are always fully booked during weekdays, most of the guests who bunk-in come to Ipoh for business purposes. Therefore usually during weekends their houses are quite empty. The rate is quite reasonable and cheap too. It is between RM40-65 per night, and we could have the whole bungalow on our own…

Before we went to the church, we had a quick breakfast nearby a foodcourt. We had wantan mee, hakka mee, char keow teow, chee chung fun. Bb-G woke up too early and she was cranky during the breakfast, therefore I couldn't take nice photo of all Ipoh hawker food. Furthermore, we were rushing for time too.

My cup of white coffee.

On the way to the church Bb-G had dozed off. She woke up just before the church ceremony began.

Then, after much prayers, speeches, vow taking, signatures, there came the photo session. I wonder how come those in this photo never looked at the camera....??

Before we went back to KL, Papa-M bought some Ipoh famous and also my favourite salted chicken.

  1. Haha....the towel rack are meant for really TALL people? By your description, the bungalow is really a better choice than hotel if travel in a big group.
